Dashing Hounds – Matting & Grooming Disclaimer

At Dashing Hounds, the health, safety, and comfort of your dog are our top priorities. We hold our grooming services to the highest standards of care, professionalism, and attention to detail. Every dog is treated as if it’s our own!

Severe matting is taken very seriously, and we will always do our best to remove mats in the safest and most humane way possible. However, in cases of heavy or tight matting, the grooming process can present certain risks. Mats that are close to the skin may conceal existing irritation, sores, or other underlying skin conditions. During removal, especially in sensitive or difficult areas such as the sanitary region, elbows, and armpits, there is a possibility of skin irritation, redness, nicks, or cuts despite our utmost care.

In situations involving severe matting, specialized tools and very close shaving techniques (including surgical-length blades) may be required to safely remove the coat. Due to the nature and severity of matting, these risks are sometimes unavoidable.

By proceeding with de-matting or shaving services, you acknowledge and accept that Dashing Hounds cannot be held responsible for any skin irritation, pre-existing conditions revealed during grooming, or minor injuries that may occur as a result of removing severe mats.

That said, outside of matting-related circumstances, we stand behind the quality of our work. In the rare event that an injury occurs during a standard groom (where no matting is present and surgical-level blades are not required), Dashing Hounds will take full responsibility and cover any necessary veterinary care directly related to the incident.

We strongly recommend regular grooming and brushing to prevent matting and ensure your dog’s ongoing comfort and well-being
